How did we get here?

No “hold on to your seats” saga—just two parents, like you, determined to give their children an education built for today, not the 1800s. We both experienced traditional public schools—one of us buried ourselves in straight-A grades and dual degrees, the other found the factory-style model simply didn’t fit.

When we started our own family, we explored every schooling option—private, charter, homeschooling—you name it. Yet even most “alternatives” clung to that same assembly-line mindset. Then, by pure chance, we discovered Acton Academy: a learner-driven movement that teaches kids to “Do” and to “Be,” equipping them with real-world skills and the confidence to chase their unique callings. Like a bolt of lightning, we knew this was the future.

As local small-business owners and new parents, opening our own Acton-powered micro-school felt both thrilling and daunting. We dove into the audition process—and within five weeks, Pathfinders Academy was officially born.

Today, we’re proud to be part of a growing community of families and educators reimagining education for the 21st century. When we’re not running our school (or our construction business), you’ll find us on outdoor adventures, drumming and dancing around the fire, or simply enjoying board games and good food with our kids.
